Tradition and Progress looks at the role of tradition in the modern world, both in a positive sense but also ambivalent, and asks if habit holds back progress. The films will provide the platform to address tradition and examine if it interrupts the flow of modernity and progress, whilst also looking at the consequences on our health and heritage. The theme will develop pupils understanding the power that film has in telling important stories and raising awareness of particular issues and provide a voice for memories and experiences. The topics also allow focus on how the media is now used to shape and inform us, addressing the ways social media has currently changed how we view our world.
